Clear, full-range sound
This compact system delivers acoustic performance similar to that of our SoundDock® digital music systems, using Bose® waveguide speaker technology. You'll hear the rich, detailed sound you'd expect from a much larger speaker. Just plug it in, add it to your home wireless network, and you have a go-to speaker for playing your favourite streaming content.
Easy to use
Instead of physically docking your device, you connect wirelessly via AirPlay to stream music from your Apple device or a computer running iTunes. And you have full use of your Apple device as you listen.
Setup is easy. Just plug in the system, connect it to a computer with the included USB cable and go to the setup site. The site walks you through the steps to configure your system. Once you're up and running, the system communicates with your devices wirelessly over your home network, and you can move it anywhere you want to listen.
Versatility in play
The system also features an auxiliary input so you can connect and play music from other devices that don't utilise AirPlay. And an optional rechargeable battery turns the system into a portable speaker that you can carry easily from room to room with its built-in handle.

What is the difference between the SoundLink® Air system and the SoundLink® Bluetooth® Mobile speaker II?
The two systems are made for different devices and utilise different technologies.

What is AirPlay and how do I know if my device has it?
AirPlay is a wireless technology by Apple. It allows you to listen to your music wirelessly by streaming content from your Apple device or a computer running iTunes to a speaker (or multiple speakers) enabled for AirPlay. A home wireless network is necessary to stream via AirPlay.
How do I get the SoundLink® Air system onto my wireless network?
To set up the system, simply connect it to a computer on your wireless network with the included USB cable and enter the URL www.bose.com/wifisetup. The site will walk you through the steps to set up and configure your speaker system.
How does music stream from my Apple device to the SoundLink® Air system?
First, make sure the system and your Apple device are on the same wireless network. When you launch an app that plays music, you will see the AirPlay icon on your device's screen. Push the icon and select "SoundLink® Air system" (or the name you've given the speaker) from the list. Music will then stream from your Apple device to the speaker.
How do I control the system and the content that’s playing?
While streaming, you can use your Apple device for function control. You can also use the system’s remote to control volume, source selection, play/pause, mute and forward/rewind.
Can I stream music from one source to multiple SoundLink® Air systems?
Any computer running iTunes can stream the same content to multiple SoundLink® Air systems. However, with an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, you can only stream to one SoundLink® Air system at a time.
Can non-Apple smartphones stream music using the SoundLink® Air system?
No. AirPlay is an Apple technology designed specifically for use with Apple devices to stream music. A non-Apple smartphone can connect to the SoundLink® Air system via the auxiliary input.
What is the wireless range of the system?
The wireless range depends on the range of your home wireless network. A typical home wireless network has a range of about 19.8 m.
