The first wireless headphones from Bose give you the freedom to enjoy your movies, videos and music unplugged. Bose® AE2w Bluetooth® headphones offer full, natural sound and a comfortable, around-ear fit plus freedom of movement. You can watch your video on your iPad and reach for your coffee, or talk on your smartphone and retrieve those notes from your desk, untethered and untangled. No cords.
Like our other AE2 headphones, the Bose® AE2w headphones feature exclusive TriPort® technology, which enables full-range sound—the clear highs to the full lows—from a lightweight design. The headphones also feature active equalisation in the control module that provides a noticeable improvement to the sound quality. Your music and movies will take on a dramatic new dimension.
Conventional headphones keep you tethered to your devices. Bose® AE2w Bluetooth® headphones—with a range of 9 metres—let you move around freely while still immersed in your music or video. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides seven hours of run time and 200 hours of standby time. You can easily recharge it with the included USB cable.
The headphones’ Bluetooth® control module lets you connect wirelessly to your iPad, smartphone or other favourite Bluetooth® devices. Just pair the headphones and your device—it's easy. Simply press and hold the multifunction and volume+ buttons on the headphones, and then choose the Bose® AE2w headphones from your device's Bluetooth® list. You can even connect the headphones to two devices simultaneously. For example, you can watch a video on your iPad while staying connected to your smartphone. The headphones will automatically pause the video to answer a call. Then, when the call is finished, the headphones automatically switch back to the video.
Buttons on the control module include power (1), volume (2) and multifunction (3). This button operates iPad functions such as play/pause and track controls for music and videos. It also lets you switch between calls and other audio. LED and audio indicators on the control module provide information on power, battery life and Bluetooth® connection status.
The module's built-in microphone lets you make calls when the headphones are connected to your smartphone and talk to the voice-recognition apps, like Siri or Google search, on your smartphone or iPad.
The headphones are designed with features and materials that provide lasting quality. The cushioned ear cups and adjustable headband let you wear the headphones comfortably for hours. And the ear cups fold flat for convenient storage in the carry bag. This makes it easy to take them wherever your travels take you.
Is my tablet or smartphone compatible with Bose® AE2w Bluetooth® headphones?
The headphones are compatible with other Bluetooth® devices using Bluetooth® 2.1 (or later) specifications that support the Bluetooth® A2DP, hands-free and headset profiles.
Can Bose® AE2w Bluetooth® headphones simultaneously be connected to two devices?
Yes, Bose® AE2w headphones can maintain a connection to two Bluetooth® devices at the same time by using multipoint technology.
Can I use Bose® AE2w Bluetooth® headphones with my TV? Would they work with a Bluetooth® transmitter?
No. Most TVs don't have Bluetooth® functionality. Although a transmitter will technically work, there may be a distracting delay between the audio and video.
Can Bose® AE2w Bluetooth® headphones be used for VoIP calls?
Yes. The headphones will work with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) apps on mobile devices that support the Bluetooth® hands-free profile.
Can I use the headphones with my portable or home audio equipment?
Yes. Bose® AE2w headphones can be used to listen to your favourite audio sources—DVD/CD players, digital music players, computers—with the audio cable included in the package. They will sound a bit different, because the headphones won't have the power electronics that implement the active EQ; those are built into the wireless control module.
Are these headphones noise cancelling?
No. While Bose® AE2w headphones may physically block some noise, they aren't specifically designed for this purpose and don't include active noise cancelling technology.
Can the headphones be used for gaming?
No. Most gaming consoles do not use the same Bluetooth® protocols as Bose® AE2w headphones. A2DP is necessary for audio with the headphones, so they would only work for communications, not game audio. In general, the audio/video delay will be excessive and most noticeable in games where action and audio are supposed to be synchronised. Players of casual games with sound effects may not have an issue.
What is the warranty on Bose® AE2w Bluetooth® headphones?
The Bose® AE2w headphones are backed by a limited two-year warranty.
