Yes. The SoundDock® Original System charges your iPod or iPhone while it is in the dock, keeping it ready for portable use even while you listen. And since iPod/iPhone players use lithium-based rechargeable batteries, you don't need to be concerned about a memory effect.

If you own a SoundDock manufactured before August 2008 it is possible that this may not charge all current iPods. Bose can convert older SoundDock® Original system models to charge all current iPods (including iPod or iPhone). Please call the Troubleshooting/Repairs Line on 0800 781 1274 to enquire further. 

Wipe the system using a soft, dry cloth. You can also lightly vacuum the grille or the dock to remove any grit or debris. 

• Do not use solvents, chemicals or sprays
• Do not allow liquids to spill or objects to drop into any openings. Damage from liquids voids the warranty

If you ever experience problems (intermittent or no audio, strange iPod/iPhone behaviour) please follow these simple guidelines – they will solve many of the troubleshooting questions you may have: 

• Switch off and unplug your SoundDock® system from mains power for at least 1 minute
• Reset your iPod/iPhone (consult your iPod manual or click here)
