Yes. The SoundDock® Original System charges your iPod or iPhone while it is in the dock, keeping it ready for portable use even while you listen. And since iPod/iPhone players use lithium-based rechargeable batteries, you don't need to be concerned about a memory effect. If you own a SoundDock manufactured before August 2008 it is possible that this may not charge all current iPods. Bose can convert older SoundDock® Original system models to charge all current iPods (including iPod or iPhone). Please call the Troubleshooting/Repairs Line on 0800 781 1274 to enquire further.

If you misplace your SoundDock® Original system remote, you can still enjoy the music stored on your iPod or iPhone. Simply dock your iPod or iPhone in the SoundDock® Original system and use the iPod buttons and click wheel/touch wheel or touch screen as usual. Please obtain the serial number (17 digits) from the bottom of your SoundDock® Original system and call the Troubleshooting/Repairs Line on 0800 781 1274 to purchase the correct power pack.

Yes. The SoundDock® Original system is magnetically shielded to prevent interference with TV and computer monitor displays. Shielding also helps prevent erasing or damaging the iPod/iPhone storage media.

Wipe the system using a soft, dry cloth. You can also lightly vacuum the grille or the dock to remove any grit or debris. - Do not use solvents, chemicals or sprays
- Do not allow liquids to spill or objects to drop into any openings. Damage from liquids voids the warranty

We suggest you place your SoundDock® system on a firm and level surface.

This usually indicates that the 4-pin power plug that connects into the rear of the SoundDock® Original system is inserted the wrong way around – the SoundDock® system is designed to alert you to this connection problem. Please unplug, check and reconnect making sure that the angled pins connect into the angled sockets.

If you ever experience problems (intermittent or no audio, strange iPod/iPhone behaviour) please follow these simple guidelines – they will solve many of the troubleshooting questions you may have: - Switch off and unplug your SoundDock® system from mains power for at least 1 minute
- Reset your iPod/iPhone (consult your iPod manual or click here)
- If problems still persist after following both steps above please contact the retailer that you purchased from or call the Troubleshooting/Repairs Line on 0800 781 1274
