Yes. The 3·2·1® GS system uses proprietary signal processing and an Articulated Array speaker design to deliver a multi-channel surround experience from digital 5.1-encoded material, including DVD, Dolby® Digital and DTS® digital surround along with the added bass impact of the ".1" low-frequency effects channel. And with the inclusion of BOSE® proprietary VIDEOSTAGE® 5 decoding circuitry, this type of performance is delivered from any source, including analog-encoded surround and even older mono TV programs. Digital 5.1 decoding provides improved realism from 5.1-encoded DVDs, DSS or HDTV, giving a surround sound experience with most of the acoustic benefits of a full five-speaker system.

Yes. The 3·2·1® GS system plays DVD-video, as well as music on CD, CD-R (recordable) and CD-RW (rewritable). The system also plays MP3 files on CD and AM/FM radio.

A way to store and transmit music, MP3 is a file format that compresses audio data into relatively small files. For example, using MP3 compression on your PC, you can turn a 50 MB sound file into a 5 MB file. The level of compression can be varied, but note that too much compression will adversely affect audio quality. Using your PC, you can copy MP3 files directly onto a CD-R (recordable) or CD-RW (rewritable). Storing your CDs as MP3 files on a CD-R or CD-RW is an efficient way to archive an extensive audio library.

Yes. You do have the option of using most newer universal remotes or programmable "learning" remotes to control the system. To turn on components connected to the media centre, use the remote for that specific component or its power switch. Neither the 3·2·1® GS system remote nor the media centre can turn components, such as a TV or a VCR, on or off.

You can connect the audio input of up to three components, including your TV, directly to the media centre using the Video 1, Video 2 and AUX input jacks on the rear panel.

Yes, but 3·2·1® systems can only receive audio streams from a LIFESTYLE® system. The 3·2·1® systems cannot transmit audio streams to other rooms in your home.

Region management codes are part of the DVD standard. For any DVD player and DVD disc to be compatible, their region code numbers must match. These numbers are allocated according to where the player and disc are sold. Check the region code number on the carton or on the bottom of the (DVD-enabled) media center that came with your system. Then be sure to choose only DVD discs that show the same region number on the disc label or front cover. World DVD region code numbers (1-6): - United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands and some islands in the Pacific
- Japan, Western Europe (including Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and the Balkans), South Africa, Turkey and the Middle East (including Iran and Egypt)

Playback restrictions can be placed on your DVD player by choosing a level of parental control and setting up a system password. Refer to your owner's guide for details and instructions. If you have set up and forgotten your parental control password, please contact Product and Technical Support for password override instructions.

The 3·2·1® GS system is covered by a limited two-years transferable warranty. Details of the warranty are provided online and on the warranty card that comes with your system.
