Lose yourself in your music

QC®20 headphones let you experience music on the go as never before. You'll enjoy lifelike, digital sound quality that stands out from the noise around you—plus the freedom of an in-ear headphone. StayHear®+ tips physically block some noise while our Acoustic Noise Cancelling technology electronically reduces most of what's left. It's just you and your music, even in noisy environments.

Tune in to your environment

But there are moments when you may not want to be so cut off from your surroundings. Crossing a city street. Waiting for airline gate announcements. This is where Aware mode comes in. Instead of removing your headphones, just press a button, and you're back in touch with the sounds around you—while your music keeps playing, and you still experience some noise cancellation.

Engaging sound

All this, plus Bose lifelike sound. Sound you wouldn't expect from in-ear headphones. Our TriPort® technology and Active EQ combine to give your music a depth and balance that keep your daily soundtrack fresh and alive. The subtle details shine through, too. So wherever you are, your music's front and center.

Advanced ear tip technology

And your music's even easier to enjoy when you're not fussing with your headphones. Proprietary StayHear®+ tips create a soft, secure fit with no need to force them into your ears. The cone shape spreads contact evenly across the ear for maximum comfort, and forms a gentle seal that contributes to the headphones' full-spectrum noise reduction.

You're in control

Controls are all at your fingertips. Use the slider switch on the control module to turn noise cancelling on and off. The inline microphone/remote houses Aware mode and call answer/end buttons. The 4-button remote, provides volume and music control plus access to voice-recognition apps, like Siri® or Google search.

Rechargeable battery

The lithium-ion battery (located inside the module) charges in just 2 hours with the included USB cable, and delivers up to 16 hours playing time per charge. A battery indicator light displays power status. And, even if the battery dies your music still plays with performance equal to that of our regular in-ear headphones.

When not in use, simply store your headphones and cables in the included carrying case.

FAQs

Can I use the headphones even if noise cancelling is off or if the battery is depleted?

Yes, QC®20 headphones are still able to play audio if the battery power is depleted and the unit is powered off. You will not be able to use noise cancelling or Aware mode, however, and Active EQ, which electronically provides more lifelike audio reproduction, is disabled. These technologies need power to operate.

What devices can I use with QC®20 headphones?

QC®20 headphones are specifically designed to work with Apple® or Samsung and Android™ devices. An inline microphone and one-touch answer/end button allow for seamless switching between your calls and music. Some phones may require you to hold the answer/end button for a few seconds to perform these functions.

Can I use QC®20 headphones in the rain or snow?

It's not recommended. Bose® SoundSport® in-ear headphones, however, are designed to withstand the rigours of outdoor weather.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing from Bose I bought these just over a month ago and the first time I used them i was taking a short flight and thought they were amazing, couldn't hear the engines just my music, couldn't believe how good they actually were. On using them every day commuting I couldn't be any more disappointed. walking to the train station all you hear is the wind noise even with the noise cancelling turned on, I have the correct size buds for my ears as i have had the soundtrue ones for about 3 years and they were great. The only reason i upgrades is because I changed from apple to Samsung so thought id upgrade at the same time. when walking or jogging with the noise cancelling turned on all you hear is the enhanced noise of your feet but in a dull way. Also they don't go as loud as previous models. The sound quality is still fantastic as with all my other Bose systems. If I had the choice to buy again I would buy another set of the soundtrue at half the price and think about getting some over ear noise cancelling headphones for holidays and things. I feel like I have wasted a lot of money on these for every day use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Remote control issues I have been very happy with the sound quality and noise cancelling ability of these headphones. I am less happy with the quality of the remote control, the middle button of which, does not now work at all. Any ideas on how to get it working again?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good noise cancellation, but need improvement I have had it for about two months. The noise cancellation is just amazing, as well as the sound quality. I do like the sound character of bose. Overall, a market-leading noise cancellation earphones. The drawbacks: 1. Beeping with sudden presure change outside. For example, when you try to close the vehicle door, a very loud beeping will shock you. 2. When turning off the battery, beeping again and uncomfortable. I have to take it off before I turn off the battery.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good sound but the cable'll break in case provided I had this item for 2 years now but with the active element on the cable and the very small case provided the cable was damaged very quickly. Considering the price, having to change it very 2 years is a bit pricey

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound and cancellation but popping noise too The quality of the sound cancellation is unbelievable, the sound quality is also great. HOWEVER, I also get popping sounds on the train when it goes from over to underground or stops suddenly. It is NOTHING to do with blowing out the ports with air, washing the tips etc..I have figured out that it is caused when the air pressure changes dramatically, I noticed that when I stand in my porch at home and close the front door, I get the same effect due to the air pressure build up in the enclosed area - it's a little painful. I'm not sure it's a design fault as much as a function of the microphone diaphragm being unnaturally compressed suddenly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Headphone ear plugs do not fit well There appears to be no alternative shaped earplugs. That is a real shame because we do not have the same profile ears

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Partially effective I purchased the QC20s in the January sale in the hope that they'd help to make my daily commute more peaceful (I take a couple of trains every day and was hoping to block some of the background rumble as well as the conversations, phones and tinny music from my fellow passengers). Judging by some of the other reviews, I was expecting to end up inside my own bubble of silence! Since buying them, I've been testing them out in a range of environments; on the train, bus and just walking down the street. My conclusion is that they can cancel out only specific types of low frequency noise (traffic rumble, vehicle engines, equipment fans) but you're far from sitting in silence. I've found them to be not at all effective in making people's voice quieter - I get better results using a par of in-ear buds costing a fraction of the price. There are some other annoyances; as other reviewers have pointed out they can pop loudly in response to a train going into a tunnel, a door being slammed or even just a journey over a bumpy road. If you're thinking about buying them, I'd suggest you consider carefully what you want sounds irritate you the most, and what you wish to block out. If it's the constant drone of an aircraft engine then they'll probably be fine, but if you're expecting to cut out much else, then you'll probably be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So awesome I bought a pair for my wife! I've had these for nearly 2 years, I first considered the over ear but decided on these as there much smaller and easier to carry. I use them at home, work and travelling and think they are great. They do knock out 80 % of the background noise, dull enough to make a huge difference. The sound quality is great too. I've read a few reveiws regarding the popping sound, I have had this once or twice but it seems to be when there's a pressure difference. You do get a 2 year guarantee though. I did buy a second pair for my wife at Christmas as I'm sick of her pinching mine.
