Just say it to play it

Did you know you can control many Bose products with just your voice? True story. In fact, Bose smart speakers and selected Bose noise cancelling headphones allow you to use the Google Assistant* and its voice commands. If you haven’t used the Google Assistant yet or you’re curious about what it can do, read on.

What is the Google Assistant?

The Google Assistant is a popular voice assistant. You can play music, find answers on Google Search, manage everyday tasks and easily control smart devices around your home—just by using your voice. Just start by saying “Hey Google” to start a conversation with your Google Assistant.

Why use the Google Assistant with Bose products?

Your Google Assistant helps you across devices, like Google Home, your phone—and your Bose speaker, soundbar or headphones. The main benefit to using the Google Assistant with Bose products is the powerful sound. In other words, your music, podcasts, phone calls and everything else your Google Assistant does for you will sound deep, clear and full of life.

Currently, the Google Assistant works with Bose Portable Smart SpeakerQC35 II, Headphones 700, Home Speaker 300, Smart Speaker 500, Smart Soundbar 300 and Smart Soundbar 700. Learn how to set up the Google Assistant for smart speakers and headphones.

What can I do with the Google Assistant and Bose products?

When you enable the Google Assistant on your Bose speakers and headphones, you’ll quickly discover how they work together to help make so many things easier to do. For example:

Play your music

With the Google Assistant and Bose products, your voice is the ultimate DJ. Imagine you’re making dinner and you’re in the mood for some music. Your Bose Smart Speaker 500 is across the room. Without stopping what you’re doing, simply say out loud, “Hey Google, play my dinner playlist on Spotify”. In moments, your playlist will begin to play. It’s that easy. You can listen to your favourite radio stations, podcasts and more in the same way.

Get answers to your questions

If you’ve got questions, the Google Assistant has answers. Let’s say you’re getting dressed in the morning and it looks cloudy outside. Your Bose Smart Soundbar 700 is nearby. Simply say out loud, “Hey Google, what’s the weather like?” The Google Assistant will read back to you the latest forecast. Use it to find out the latest news, get last night’s sports scores, get directions, do calculations and translations, and so much more.

Manage your day

Getting help to get through your day is only a few words away. For example, you’re wearing your Bose Headphones 700 while you work. You suddenly remember it’s your brother’s birthday and you want to call him tonight. Just press the voice assistant button and say, “Hey Google, remind me to call Scott at 8 pm”. It works for anyone in your phone’s contact list or any business listed in Google Maps, too. Of course, you can also use the Google Assistant to make the call for you: “Hey Google, call Scott!” You can also schedule events on your calendar, make dinner reservations, create shopping lists and lots more.

*The Google Assistant isn’t available in all languages and countries.
