No audio from product

If your product seems to be set up properly but does not produce sound, try the following:

Be sure the system is connected properly.

A connection may have come loose or may be incorrect. Check the seating and location of the interconnect cables at both ends. For information system connections, see Setting up your product.

Be sure the audio/video device connections are correct.

All sources must be connected to the TV and the TV's audio output then connected to the "TV Input" on the speaker array. To ensure that a digital 5.1 signal is auto-selected when available, connect the digital audio output from a single source device directly to the AUX input of the speaker array.

It is also possible that a connection may have come loose or may be incorrect at the source. Check to see that all output connectors on the audio/video device are firmly seated. For information on attaching other audio sources, see Connecting other devices to your system.

Be sure the system is set up properly and all connections are secure.

A connection may have come loose or may be connected incorrectly. For more info, see Setting up your product.

In the TV menu, look for applicable audio/sound settings.

Many TVs have a menu setting that allows audio to be sent to speakers other than the TV speakers. In the TV menu, navigate to sound settings and look for a TV Speakers or Audio Output option (or something similar). The TV speakers may need to be turned off and the output may need to be set to Fixed or External Speakers. (Tip: If there is no fixed output option, you might need to turn up the TV volume to max to hear it through your Bose speakers—even if the TV speakers are turned off.)

Check the volume level of the Bose system.

Be sure the system volume is not turned down. Using the volume control, gradually increase the volume level.

Check if the lights on your system show the bass module is connected.

If the system lights do not indicate the bass module is connected, try reconnecting the bass module. For more info, see Understanding LED indicator status lights and information and Connecting the bass module.

It is recommended to connect all devices to the TV, then connect only the TV to your Bose system.

The recommeded setup for your system is a single connection from it to the audio output on your TV. This way, whatever is playing on your TV will be heard through your Bose system.

If only one device is being use (i.e. only a cable box), it can be connected to the TV input on your system; however, no other device can be connected in addition. The AUX input on your system cannot be connected or selected. It is meant for connecting a device that cannot be connected to the TV (or a device from which the TV will not send sound to your Bose system).
