Poor sound quality from product

If you experience distortion, crackling, static, noise or unexpected poor sound quality from your product:

Be sure the wire that attaches the speaker to the hearing aid body is securely connected.

The speaker and attached wire can unplug from the hearing aid body. Firmly press gray plastic tip on the wire into the hearing aid body to ensure they are securely connected.

Try both the closed and open ear tips.

Your product includes two styles of ear tips: closed and open. Both have different sound properties, which affect how you hear your own voice and sound around you.

  • Closed ear tips let you hear a fuller bass response and perform better at high World Volume settings
  • Open ear tips let you hear your own voice more naturally
For more info, see Changing ear tips.

Try repositioning the hearing aid in your ear.

If the issue improves when you reposition the hearing aid, the hearing aid speaker might have been obstructed by earwax or improper fit. For more info, see Cleaning and maintaining your hearing aids and Wearing and adjusting your product.

Check that the eartips and wax guards on both hearing aids are free of debris.

If earwax or debris has built up on the ear tips or wax guards, sound quality can be affected. Use the cleaning brush for your product or a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the ear tips and wax guards. When necessary, both can be replaced. For more info, see Changing ear tips and Replacing the wax guards.

Try adjusting the various audio settings in the Bose Hear app.

The Bose Hear app lets you configure your product. This includes audio adjustments, like Ear Balance, World Volume, Focus mode and Bass and Treble. Try adjusting these settings to determine if the are set appropriately for you.
