Speaker Button Functions
SoundLink Micro Speaker (2nd Gen) Button Functions
Power button
- Located on the bottom of the speaker to the left of the USB-C port.
- Briefly press to turn the speaker on and announce the battery charge level. The light to the right of the USB-C port glows white when the speaker is on and has greater than 25% battery charge remaining.
- Briefly press to turn the speaker off.
- Pressing-and-holding the button until the light to the right of the USB-C port turns off will reset the speaker.
Bluetooth button
- With the speaker on, briefly press the button to hear which Bluetooth device is currently connected. Press again within two seconds to hear the name of the next device in the speaker device list.
- With the speaker on or off, press-and-hold the button to enable the connection of a new Bluetooth device.
- With the speaker on, press-and-hold for 15 seconds to clear the memory of all previously connected Bluetooth devices. The light above the button will blink blue twice indicating the memory has been cleared.
Volume buttons
- Briefly press either volume button once to incrementally change the volume.
- Press-and-hold either volume button to continuously change the volume.
- Pressing the play/pause and volume up button simultaneously will toggle auto-off function. The speaker will announce the new state of the function.
When changing the volume, the light above the Bluetooth button will blink. When the maximum volume is reached, the Bluetooth light will blink twice.
Play/Pause button
- Press once to begin playback or pause what is currently being played.
- Press twice to skip to the next track.
- Press three times to return to the previous track or to the beginning of the current track depending on the music player in use.
Shortcut button
- The Shortcut button can be set in the Bose app to either a) link two Bose app-compatible Bluetooth speakers for Stereo or Party mode, or b) activate Spotify playback from your mobile device.
