Using Cardioid mode

When using two bass modules, you have the option to make the low-frequency sound from you system more or less directional. This is useful if you are trying to limit the dispersion of bass frequencies in an area.

Use Cardioid mode with two sub modules.

Cardioid mode is possible with both the Sub1 and Sub2 modules when two identical subs are stacked toghether. Cardioid mode does not work with two different model subs.

To use Cardioid mode:
  1. Stack two same-model bass modules with one facing forward and one facing backwards in the opposite direction
  2. Connect your subs to the sound system:
    • You can connect any sound system to the first sub via the LINE IN jack. Then, connect the LINE OUT jack from the first sub to the LINE IN jack on the second sub. AC power connections are also required for both subs
    • Alternatively, for L1 Pro32 systems, you can connect a SubMatch cable from the L1 system to the SUBMATCH IN port on the first sub. Then, connect a SubMatch cable from the SUBMATCH THRU port on the first sub to the SUBMATCH IN port on the second sub
  3. On both subs, set the PHASE/PATTERN switch to CARDIOID.
