Updating Your Headphones | Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen)

Important info about your headphone update:

When an update is available for your headphones, the Bose app  will automatically download it.

If your headphones are powered off during the update, it will resume once they are powered on and connected to the app.

Keep Bose app notifications enabled so you’ll be alerted whenever an update is available.

How to update your headphones

  • Make sure your headphones are connected to your phone or tablet through the Bose app
  • After the app downloads the update, it transfers it to your headphones, which can take up to 40 minutes.
Note: The headphones must remain connected to the app, and stay within Bluetooth® range. The app must be open, either active or running in the background, but closing it will stop the transfer.
  • After the transfer is complete, tap Install Update and follow the app instructions to finish the update.
  • Installing the update can take up to 15 minutes. While updating, the light on your headphones will continuously blink white.

Alternate update method - Using a computer

  1. On a computer, go to btu.bose.com to open the Bose Updater application.
  2. Follow the Updater instructions to update your product.
If the Updater application is not already installed on your computer, you will be prompted to download and install it.
