Optimising audio

When you are listening to any audio source on your computer, there are usually three separate volume settings to consider: one from your computer, one from the application and the volume control buttons on your MusicMonitor® right speaker (or its remote control).

Does it matter where you set each control? Yes. We recommend presetting your computer and application to maximum volume settings. Then use your speaker volume control buttons to adjust the volume accordingly. This serves two purposes:

  • Setting your computer and application volume controls to a high level sends a strong audio signal to your MusicMonitor® speakers, enabling them to process the signal with minimal distortion
  • The MusicMonitor® volume buttons (on the right speaker or remote) now become your system's all-purpose master volume controls—the only ones you need to adjust

Note: Be aware that setting the speaker volume + button to the maximum level may cause the speakers' internal protection feature to engage, reducing system output. If you notice a drop in volume, press the volume - button one or more times.
