Programming the Action button

The Action button is a programmable button that allows you to quickly and easily access Amazon Alexa, your Google Assistant or noise cancellation. The Action button is located on the back of the left earcup.

Note: Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant are not available in all languages and countries.

Setting the Action button to Amazon Alexa: With Alexa, you can ask to play music, hear the news, check the weather, control smart-home devices and more. Alexa lives in the cloud and is always getting smarter, adding new capabilities that are delivered to your device automatically. Using Alexa on your headphones is simple—just press and ask, and Alexa will respond instantly.

Setting the Action button to Google Assistant: The Google Assistant allows you to quickly enjoy entertainment, stay connected, get information and manage your day—all without glancing at your phone. Setting the Action button to noise cancellation: Allows you to quickly and easily change the noise cancellation setting. Noise cancellation reduces unwanted noise, providing a clearer, more lifelike audio performance. You can choose three levels of noise cancellation based on your listening preferences and environment.

To program the Action button:

Open the Bose Connect app and connect your headphones

In the top right corner of the app, tap the Gear icon (Settings) to enter the Settings menu

In the Settings menu, select the Action button

Select between Noise CancellingGoogle Assistant or Amazon Alexa

Note: The Alexa app needs to be installed on your mobile device if setting the Action button to Alexa. Download the Alexa app from Google Play or the App store. Alexa isn't available in all languages and countries.

The Google Assistant is standard on eligible Android devices*. For iOS devices, the Google Assistant app needs to be downloaded from the App Store. The Google Assistant isn’t available in all languages and countries.
