Setting the control module operation switches

The operation switches control the auto-off function and the intercom audio selection.

To change the operation switches, follow these steps:

Open the battery compartment. If you need help with this, see The battery compartment

If batteries are installed, remove them. The AUDIO and AUTO-OFF switches will then be visible

To change a switch position, use a pen or a small, flat-tipped screwdriver to gently move the switch

The following list shows possible positions, default setting and purpose for each switch:

auto-off function (on, off default: on):
when on, the headset will turn off after 3–9 minutes of inactivity. when the headset is off, its acoustic noise cancelling® technology continues to operate until you press and hold the power button for at least one second

mono/stereo selection (mono, stereo default: mono):
set to mono to provide audio in both ears from a mono intercom. set to stereo when connecting to an aircraft with a stereo intercom

Auto-off functionality

The auto-off feature detects when the headset is not in use and switches it off after several minutes to preserve battery power. The exact time it takes to switch off varies and can range between 3 and 9 minutes.

When the headset is running on battery power only and is not plugged in to an intercom, it will shut off even when there is audio playing through the auxiliary input.

when on a phone call and unplugged from an intercom, the headset will allow for the call to be completed, then it will turn off approximately three seconds after the call is terminated (bluetooth®-enabled control modules only)

To use the headset when unplugged from the intercom to listen to auxiliary input audio, or as a headset to make or receive calls, disable the auto-off feature for uninterrupted functionality.
