Setting video resolution

Your system's video resolution is adjustable. This lets you match the resolution from your Bose system with your TV resolution for the best image quality.

Setting video resolution.

This feature allows you to use the internal video scaler or simply pass an incoming signal to the TV without converting it.

Setting Video Resolution:

This feature is available when the system is connected to a TV with an HDMI cable.

Setting Video Resolution from the system menu

  1. On the remote control, press the System button
  2. Scroll right to select Video
  3. Scroll down to Video Resolution
  4. Scroll right to select the current setting
  5. Scroll up or down to select Fixed or Adjustable
    • Fixed: This sets your system to pass to same resolution to your TV that it receives from a connected device. For example, if a connected media player sends 1080p to your system, your system will send 1080p to your TV. However, if the TV does not accept 1080p, your system will scale video to the highest resolution the TV can display.
    • Adjustable: This lets you select a specific resolution
      1. Press the Settings button
Tip: Be sure the system is not on the AM/FM or CD/DVD source. A resolution cannot be selected while on these sources
      2. Scroll down to Video Resolution
      3. Scroll right to highlight the current setting
      4. Scroll up or down to select a resolution:
        • 480/576p (lowest quality)
        • 720p
        • 1080i
        • 1080p (highest quality)

Setting Video Resolution from the system display

If Video Resolution is set to Adjustable (see above) and the resolution is set incorrectly for your TV, you might not get picture. In these cases, you can adjust the Video Resolution setting from the system display.
  1. On the remote control, press the Settings button
Tip: Be sure the system is not on the AM/FM or CD/DVD source. A resolution cannot be selected while on these sources
  2. Scroll down until >Video Res: appears on the display
  3. Scroll right so Video Res:> appears
  4. Scroll up or down to select a resolution:
    • 480/576p (lowest quality)
    • 720p
    • 1080i
    • 1080p (highest quality)
