Setting the sleep timer

The sleep timer allows your system to turn off automatically after a selectable period of time passes. Find out how to turn the sleep timer on or off and, when enabled, how to adjust the amount of time until your system powers off.

To set the Sleep timer, follow these steps:

Note: After the selected period of time, the Sleep Timer turns off your Bose system but does not turn off any devices connected to your system. It can, however, turn off the TV if detected by the TV sensor, which typically works on older CRT televisions. For more info, see Programming your remote.
  1. On the remote control, press the Settings button. The settings menu appears on the system display and on your TV. (Tip: If the system menu does not appear on your TV, be sure the correct TV input is selected)
  2. Select Sleep Timer (or SLEEP if using the system display)
  3. Scroll right to select the Sleep Timer setting
  4. Scroll up or down to select a time from 10 - 90 minutes in increments of 10
  5. Press the Exit button to exit the menu
