Yes. These earbuds feature enhanced voice pickup with SpeechClarity technology so your voice sounds clearer on calls, whether you are in an office environment or on the go. SpeechClarity is a voice-isolation engine that enhances the clarity of human dialogue and sets it apart from background noise.
Yes. The combination of skin-safe materials, an open design, long battery life of up to 9 hours with standard listening¹ and exceptional comfort makes them ideal for extended wear.
Bose OpenAudio technology directs sound toward your ear while minimising sound leakage. In most environments and at typical listening levels, people nearby won’t hear your audio. At maximum volume in a very quiet setting, others may notice sound, but they won’t hear clear details unless they are very close.
Supported devices include any Bluetooth®-enabled phone, tablet or computer. Pairing steps:
- Place both earbuds in the charging case and open the lid
- Press and hold the case Bluetooth button until the LED blinks blue
- On your device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and select “Bose Ultra Open 2 Earbuds”
- Confirm pairing, then start audio playback
When the earbuds are fully charged, they can play audio for up to 9 hours (up to 5 hours with either Immersive Audio or Auto Volume set to On, or up to 4 hours with both set to On).
When the case is fully charged, it can provide up to an additional 19.5 hours of audio playback (up to an additional 11 hours with either Immersive Audio or Auto Volume set to On, or up to 8.5 hours with both set to On).
When fully charged, the earbuds can stay connected to a device while not playing audio for up to 20 hours.
Yes. You can use either the left or right bud independently for music or phone calls. Controls on your bud will remain the same as when you are using both buds, as will any shortcuts previously set. When one bud is placed into the case, the other bud will play mono audio. For optimal audio performance, both buds should be used together.
Yes. Use the Bose app to set one or both earbud shortcut functions to access your phone’s native voice assistant, and then press and hold the earbud button. Your voice assistant will listen for a command from the microphone on your earbuds.
You can either charge with a USB-C charging cable or wirelessly. For wireless charging, align the lower half of the back of the charging case with the centre of your wireless charger. For a quick charge, if the earbud battery level is low, a 10-minute charge with the case closed powers the earbuds for up to 2 hours².
You can control volume on your device or directly on the earbuds. Each earbud has a button on the top of the barrel. It allows you to control audio (play, pause, next, previous, volume and shortcut) and calls (accept, decline, end). Press, then press and hold the button to trigger volume control. This function is a short press followed by a long press. When performed on the left earbud, the volume will slowly decrease as you hold the second press. When performed on the right earbud, the volume will slowly increase as you hold the second press. Release when you have reached the desired volume.
Yes. The earbuds are designed to sit on a part of the ear that typically doesn’t interfere with glasses, hats or most piercings. In some cases, the magnets may lightly interact with jewellery containing ferromagnetic metals (like nickel). If needed, adjust the earbud position slightly for comfort.
No. Bone conduction requires a tight fit between the bone-conduction device and your head and has significant limitations to both sound quality and comfort. Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) use proprietary Bose OpenAudio technology to deliver rich full-range sound while minimising sound that others can hear, and they do not require a tight fit.

Great sound, true open design and great call mics
This is really worth the money. Spectacular music quality, and the sound is projected from such a location that makes it heard better than what my experience has been with open ear buds from others. These Bose really give you a true Bose open ear experience with the sound quality in would expect.
I tested the microphones in calls in central London and apparently my feedback has been that they match the quality of my dedicated long boom single piece that I use for calls.
I personally also love the design, techno jewellery style, but that's my personal view.

Great Catch!
The Ultra Open Earbuds were delivered to me a few weeks ago, and I must say that my initial experience with them was not at all disappointing. I am certain that each person has a distinctive viewpoint on their preferences, whether they are a fitness enthusiast or a daily wearer. As a cardio and gym user, I favour this alternative because it enables you to remain aware of your surroundings while participating in physical activity and listening to music with a heavy bass and a crystal-clear sound. This decision is subjective, as I qualify for both categories. Once they have been worn, the earbuds are the most stable and adaptable. Particularly when conducting circuits on the gym floor or running on diverse terrain, they are exceedingly secure when worn around the ears.
I would recommend them to anyone who is contemplating investing in them for fitness or for daily use.

Great earbuds, sound quality, and stunning design
Great Earbuds with fantastic sound quality whilst maintaining a connection to the outside World!
Their open design also eliminates the amplification of sounds whilst eating or swallowing and listening to music or audio books.
They are very comfortable to wear and easy to put on and remove.
No noise cancelling which may be an issue on public transport or in noisy areas.
Overall a great product.

I received the product a few weeks ago, and from my experience as a first-time user of Ultra Open Earbuds, it is not at all bad. I am confident that each individual has their own unique perspective on what they prefer, whether it be from a fitness enthusiast or a daily wearer. As a cardio and gym enthusiast, it allows me to remain cognisant of my surroundings while engaging in physical activity and listening to crystal-clear music with a heavy bass sound system.
The earbuds are the most stable and versatile in terms of their ease of installation once you have experimented with them on your ears for the first time. They are exceedingly secure when worn around the ears, particularly when conducting circuits training on the gym floor or running on diverse terrain.
I would recommend them to anyone who is considering investing in them for fitness or for regular daily use.

Everyday Earbuds
The Ultra Open Earbuds Gen 2 are an additional addition to the collection of BOSE gadgets. I do prefer the earbuds for working out because they are securely attached to the ears, and you still have the ability to be aware of your surroundings, particularly for public road runners. For those contemplating an investment, the sound quality is consistent with that of any other BOSE device, featuring crystal-clear music and deep bass. While it may be more expensive than certain other earphones available, it is a worthwhile investment.
